United Way of Greater Toronto

United Way of Greater Toronto helps find solutions to community problems by funding a network of 200 health and social service agencies in neighbourhoods across Toronto.
It works to strengthen neighbourhoods, bringing together community partners to address the root causes of our city's social issues. United Way conducts research to identify
pressing needs and highlight emerging social issues and supports non-profit agencies to meet the challenges of a changing city.

Through its network of community agencies, United Way helps hundreds of thousands of Torontonians, giving young children a healthy start in life, helping seniors live more
independently, providing opportunities for youth, supporting abused women and their children, helping homeless and disabled people, and assisting newcomers to settle.
United Way also runs an annual fundraising campaign with the help of more than 20,000 volunteers.

Government of Canada

The Strong Neighbourhoods Task Force is funded in part by the Government of Canada's Local Labour Market Partnerships (LLMP) program. Government of Canada support
for this initiative will assist the Task Force to develop an understanding of how co-ordinated investments in community infrastructure, including joint employment
research initiatives, can lead to stronger neighbourhoods. The Government of Canada is pleased to participate with other levels of government in supporting this initiative.

The LLMP program is an employment support measure of the Employment Insurance (EI) Act which addresses labour market issues through partnerships. Funding is provided
to assist employers, employees, and/or employer associations and communities, to improve their capacity to deal with human resource requirements and to implement labour
force adjustment measures.

Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services

The ministry vision is to provide an effective, accountable system of community and social services that supports and invests in individuals, families and communities.
This system is based on a foundation of strong partnerships with municipalities and community agencies that provide supports to help adults live independently, families
care for loved ones and people to contribute to and participate in the community.

We are guided by the values of fairness, accountability and shared responsibility as we deliver integrated and client-focused services. The ministry has two core businesses:
income and employment supports, and social and community services. Services and supports are directed to those most in need, while reinvesting in prevention and early
intervention services. The ministry provides funding for supports for people with special needs, Aboriginal people and others who are homeless or otherwise socially
disadvantaged in society, as well as victims of domestic violence.
